The purpose of the The Perfecting Project is to encourage myself and others to live a life that focuses on nurturing and cultivating their unique gifts.
All to often, life gets in the way. Our passion takes a backseat and we neglect our hopes and dreams. It is my belief that this epidemic of functional neglect is depriving society of what it needs most.
We need people who are living and not just existing and going through the motions. The Perfecting Project will provide the inspiration and I will count on you to discover what gift it is you are withholding from the world. Only you have it and the world needs it.
I can only write what I know. And what I know has been shaped by a number of people and experiences. I am an African-American woman. I am a Christian and will share my perspective with you that is heavily influenced by Biblical principles. Lastly, I am a person. I have strengths, weaknesses, and I am diverse in my feelings, opinions, and tastes. I am open to sharing and discovering all that is available to us through the gift of connection and relationship. It is the latter that I wish to draw upon for us to find common ground.
The name Perfecting Project comes from one of my most favorite scriptures in the Bible. Phillipians 1:6 which reads: “For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.” (New American Standard Bible).
In other words, you were put on this earth to do good works. To accomplish great things. Now, we have to discover your purpose and move you in the direction to live it out. And we will do so knowing that with each day you will move toward that purpose. It is so, and it shall be. Let us work within our ability and trust the rest will be as it will be.
